Personal Project

Personal Project

A Journey of Passion and Discovery

In Grades 9 and 10, students embark on the Personal Project, a self-directed journey where they explore a topic that reflects their passions and creativity. This long-term project is a cornerstone of the MYP, culminating in a product and a formal report submitted to the IB.

The Four Stages of the Project

Find a Passion

Students choose a topic that genuinely excites and challenges them, making the project a personal and meaningful endeavor.

Plan & Research

With a mentor's guidance, students develop a clear plan, conduct independent research, and document their journey.

Create a Product

The research culminates in a tangible product or outcome—from a documentary film to a coded app or a work of art.

Reflect & Report

Students write a formal report detailing their process, challenges, and learning, which is submitted to the IB for assessment.

The Personal Project Exhibition

Alongside the formal report, students participate in an Exhibition where they present their work to the school community. This platform allows them to share their process, outcomes, and insights, building confidence, communication skills, and a sense of accomplishment.

  • Community Engagement: Students share their passion and learning with peers, teachers, and parents.

  • Celebrating Achievement: A powerful conclusion to months of hard work and dedication.
