KAVITA SARAF

KAVITA SARAF

Founder & Head of School

Some people step into education. Others dedicate their lives to reshaping it.

Kavita Saraf’s journey in education spans over three decades, but more than the years, it is her belief in children that defines her work. At aLphabet, Kavita has created a space where learning is not confined to classrooms, but shaped by curiosity, exploration and individuality.

Her roots in education began in Kolkata, where she trained formally and specialised in Montessori education. Early on, she understood something fundamental - that no two children learn the same way. This belief became the foundation of everything she would go on to build.

When she brought her vision to Chennai, it wasn't just about starting a school. It was reimagining what education could feel like - for both students and teachers. Today, that vision lives on in a learning environment that values inquiry, independence and global thinking.

Over the years, her contribution to education has also been formally recognised. In 2023, Kavita was honored with a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement and Distinguished Services to the Nation’ - a reflection of her long-standing impact and commitment to the field.

Kavita is not a distant leader - she spends time in classrooms, engages with students and remains deeply connected to the everyday life of the school. She continues to lead with quiet strength and clarity, guided by a simple belief: when children are trusted, supported and inspired, they grow into individuals who can shape the world around them.

SUYASH SARAF

SUYASH SARAF

CFO, Director of People and Culture

Strong institutions are not built on vision alone - they are sustained by thoughtful systems, sound decisions and people who understand both.

As Chief Financial Officer and Director of People and Culture at aLphabet, Suyash plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the school’s growth is both strategic and sustainable. His work sits at the intersection of financial planning and people development - two pillars that are essential to any thriving educational institution.

His journey began in Chennai, where he completed his schooling, before moving to Mumbai to pursue a B.Sc in Finance from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). He began his professional journey as a Private Equity Analyst with a mid-market US-based firm, where he gained experience in financial analysis and strategic decision-making. His academic exposure also includes an immersion programme at the London School of Economics. With a growing interest in education, Suyash went on to complete a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Azim Premji University, Bengaluru - bringing together financial expertise with a deeper understanding of learning and development. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Family Business from the Indian School of Business (ISB).

On the financial side, Suyash brings structure, foresight and discipline - ensuring that the school’s resources are managed responsibly and aligned with its long-term vision. He makes sure that aLphabet has the strength and stability to invest in meaningful learning experiences.

His role as Director of People and Culture reflects a deep understanding that a school is only as strong as its people. From building teams to nurturing a positive work culture, he works closely with the rest of the leadership team to focus on creating an environment where educators and staff feel supported, valued and motivated to do their best work.
