Learning Support

Learning Support

Learning support at aLphabet reflects our deep belief that every learner deserves equitable access to growth. Through individualized instruction, close collaboration, and genuine empathy, we help students develop independence, resilience, and an appreciation for cultural and linguistic diversity - qualities that prepare them to thrive both within and beyond the classroom.

Our Support Strategies

Inclusive Support

Every learner at aLphabet is met with understanding, respect, and care. Our inclusive support framework is designed to help students with diverse learning needs access the full breadth of school life to the greatest extent possible. Within the scope of our available resources and expertise, our team works closely with families to provide tailored strategies and targeted interventions that build confidence and independence. Guided by empathy, collaboration, and a belief in equitable opportunity, we ensure that every child feels supported, valued, and empowered to thrive as part of our school community.

Academic Guidance

Success at aLphabet is guided by more than academics - it’s shaped by purpose, curiosity, and a drive to grow. Our academic guidance programme helps students identify their strengths, set meaningful goals, and develop the habits of lifelong learners. Through mentoring, progress tracking, and continuous support, the school community works together to ensure each student is challenged, motivated, and inspired. With every step, learners gain not only the skills for academic excellence but also the confidence to chart their own path forward.

ESL IN PYP

Every voice belongs here at aLphabet. With the right support, ESL (English as a Second Language) learners thrive in the IB - and their global journeys are just beginning. Supporting ESL learners through transition means helping them stay connected to their home language, maintain a growth mindset, communicate with teachers early, and embrace their IB learner profile. In the IB, ESL learning takes place in inclusive, inquiry-driven classrooms with a concept-based, flexible curriculum. Students experience full integration with their peers while developing confidence, identity and communication skills - where every learner’s voice truly belongs.

In MYP and DP

Every learner’s journey is unique - and our learning support team is here to make sure no one walks that path alone. Through tailored academic and language guidance, students gain confidence, overcome challenges, and grow into independent thinkers. Within the MYP and DP programmes, we champion inclusivity by meeting learners where they are and guiding them toward where they can go.

English Immersive Programme (EIP)

The English Immersive Programme offers tailored support for students who need additional guidance in adapting to English-medium learning. Designed as an intensive two-week phase - extendable up to four weeks - the programme strengthens essential language skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension. With guided worksheets, one-on-one tutorials, and individual teacher mentoring, students build both confidence and fluency while staying aligned with class objectives.

English B

At the Diploma level, students continue to advance their language proficiency through the English B course, which emphasizes both academic and functional fluency. The programme integrates vocabulary development, grammar refinement, comprehension, and interactive dialogue to equip students for success in academic writing and real-world communication. By encouraging self-expression, cultural understanding, and confidence, English B nurtures key attributes of the IB Learner Profile.

Language A - Self-Supported Self-Taught (SSST) - Korean

The Self-Taught Language A programme empowers students to pursue higher-level study in their native language while engaging fully in the IB Diploma framework. Currently, aLphabet supports Self-Taught Korean, offering a personalized study plan developed in collaboration with an external tutor and a school supervisor. Weekly sessions focus on literary analysis, writing, and oral assessments, supported by access to digital archives, the school library, and AI-enabled research tools. This unique approach allows learners to preserve their linguistic and cultural identity while honing their analytical and communication skills.
