Service as Action (DP)

The aLphabet Difference

Service as Action (DP)

Learning moves beyond the classroom as students in the DP engage in creative, physical, and service-oriented projects that make a real impact. Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) is one of the three essential elements that every student must complete as part of the DP. Whether it’s artistic expression, athletic challenges, or social impact work at local, national, or global levels. Students don’t just learn about the world — they actively contribute to it.

The Three Strands of CAS

Creativity

Creativity

Engaging in the arts and other experiences that stretch imagination and problem-solving, helping students think differently and express themselves in different ways.

Activity

Activity

Pursuing physical challenges that build resilience, well-being, and a balanced lifestyle, complementing academic learning with energy and focus.

Service

Service

Participating in voluntary initiatives that make a difference - fostering empathy, respect, and understanding, while ensuring the dignity and rights of everyone involved.

Dynamic Projects, Real Impact

Our students have led a variety of inspiring CAS projects, including:

Art for Social Change

Using creative expression to raise awareness about important social issues.

Charity Marathon

Organizing and participating in runs to raise funds for local causes.

Community Garden

Creating green spaces and promoting sustainable food practices within the community.

Language Tutoring

Volunteering to teach language skills to underprivileged children.

"Each student has a different starting point, and therefore different goals and needs, but for many their CAS activities include experiences that are profound and life-changing."
